Phnom Penh: The six-millionth Cambodian to receive their first shot of Covid-19 vaccine has been named as 67 year old Pheng Soeun. She is a farmer in the Chamkar Leu District of Kampong Cham.

The announcement was made on Monday evening by Prime Minister Hun Sen, who said that the country was now 60% of the way to its target of inoculating 10-million adults by November. Ms. Soeun will be receiving her next shot in 21 days time, assuming she has received a shot of Sinopharm or Sinovac.

She’ll receive a cash reward of 10,000,000 riel (approximately $2,500) as well as other gifts from the Health Ministry’s Dr. Or Vandine.
